Your Ordination

You did not choose Me, but I chose you. I appointed you that you should go out and produce fruit and that your fruit should remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you. This is what I command you: love one another.

But now God has placed the parts, each one of them, in the body just as He wanted.

For He must reign until He puts all His enemies under His feet.
(John 15:16-17; 1 Corinthians 12:18; 1 Corinthians 15:25 Holman Christian Standard Bible ©®)

In these 3 passages, the word “appointed” in the first, “placed” in the second, and “puts” in the third, are translations of the Greek word “tithemi” (Strong’s word G:5087). It is His placement of us in His body that gives us authority, purpose, and success. He put us in a certain place with certain purpose. That purpose includes bearing fruit. It also includes bearing fruit that remains, and being effective in prayer.

Regarding the fruit that remains, consider that fruit from an apple tree is an apple. Fruit from an apple tree that remains is another apple tree. If we become a huge tree that creates so much shadow that nothing can grow under our branches, we will not produce much remaining fruit. If we are constantly looking for ways to create growth space and resources for those who are near us and following behind us, we will find those opportunities. Being pruned frequently helps, according to Jesus, the fruit-bearing possibilities that we have.
