Pleasing Jesus

Maturity, in my estimation, is measurable by how quickly a person responds to a situation (without regard for whether the situation is opportunity or danger), with a response that has been birthed in the Fruit of the Spirit listed by Paul in Galatians 5:22-23.

A further, more refined look at the issue becomes, in my estimation, how quickly a person’s motivation for having the correct response to a situation is influenced by a desire to please Jesus rather than just to have found the difference between right and wrong. I am becoming who He wants me to be when my motivations are not just good scores on the tests. When my desire is to please Him – to see His smile – I have moved along.

Philippians 2:12-13: He works in me to want to do what makes Him happy. I need to let Him work in me.
