The Best Reward

Will a preacher have a better inheritance than a luggage handler at a bus station or airport?

Someone who is doing what the King leads them to do will have a greater inheritance than someone who isn’t.

For God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you showed for His name when you served the saints—and you continue to serve them. Now we want each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the final realization of your hope, so that you won’t become lazy, but imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perseverance.

For when God made a promise to Abraham, since He had no one greater to swear by, He swore by Himself:

I will most certainly bless you,
and I will greatly multiply you.

And so, after waiting patiently, Abraham obtained the promise.

For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light. He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
