Christ in You
Jesus considers you when He considers Himself. He taught Paul to understand something of the mystery. When Jesus introduced Himself to Saul, Saul was on his way to Damascus, with letters of authority from the chiefs of Israel to imprison and/or kill followers of “The Way” of Jesus. In effect, Jesus introduced Himself and His people in the same statement to Saul: “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting…” (Acts 9:5)
Paul clearly had this mystery in mind when he interpreted to believers in Corinth the cause of some of them being sick, and some having died. He wrote to them that they were cursing each other by not discerning the presence of Jesus in each other. After cursing His body, they were then eating His body during the partaking of bread and wine as part of their common meals when they met. They cursed His body, then ate what they had cursed. That brought sickness and death.
That is what Paul called “eating the Lord’s supper in an unworthy manner,” (1 Corinthians 11).
The more we expect Jesus to bless us through each other, the more we expect each other to come to maturity and manifest His work and His nature, the more we refuse to judge each other outside of Christ, the more we harm our selves, our possibilities, and our relationship with Jesus, Who is the Head of the body.
I expect to meet some manifestation of Who Jesus is through you that is not possible through someone else. I hate to wait!
