I was considering recently how ridiculous all of us are. Then I remembered that we are the crown of all that Jesus has created. As I marveled at the contrast between our ridiculousness and the position humans hold in the created order, I was reminded by His Spirit first that those who are born from above, of Him, are even higher in the order of earthly things than mere humans, and further, that we who fall into that group are also still encased in earthen vessels of flesh. Our true greatness is not yet visible.
Not all flesh is the same flesh; there is one flesh for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish. There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is different from that of the earthly ones. There is a splendor of the sun, another of the moon, and another of the stars; for star differs from star in splendor.
From now on, then, we do not know anyone in a purely human way. Even if we have known Christ in a purely human way, yet now we no longer know Him like that. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come.
