Training Younger Saints

Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV)
Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.

Saul will try to get you to wear his armor, while he counsels you that you should not face Goliath, because he is afraid, and you should be, too. The Holy Spirit of Yahweh will instead equip you and encourage you and lead you to victory by the way He has chosen.

When you have the privilege of investing in a younger life, listen to what the Spirit says about the person, and say and do things that train them into the identity and character and work that the Holy Spirit says they should go in. It will bring them life, and they will not depart from it long as they live.

Don’t be afraid when their ideas are outside your box, either. Bless them. If they make a mistake, “I told you so,” will be some of the most hate-filled words they could hear. Help them learn how to listen to the Spirit through the process of trying new things. Help them be awesome!
