Foolishness or Foolishness

The more we give Jesus control of our lives, the more some of our friends and family members will accuse us of something between fanaticism and insanity.

But the natural man does not welcome what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to know it since it is evaluated spiritually. The spiritual person, however, can evaluate everything, yet he himself cannot be evaluated by anyone.

(1 Corinthians 2:14-15 HCSB ©®)

On days, we may be crazy, especially the days when we get an idea that did not come to us from the Spirit of Jesus. On those days, it would be good to listen to the people who are trying to correct us. How can we safely walk this tightrope that has the foolishness of Yahweh on one side and the foolishness of men on the other?

Maybe we can’t “safely” walk it, but we can faith-fully walk it. We can continually ask the Spirit for guidance, and continually listen for His direction and correction, and we can get up from mistakes and start on the right path again. He doesn’t seem to consider mistakes to be failures. Quitting would be the mistake that would be an exception. And doubting His ability to lead us might be another.
