Being Prepared for Purpose

A friend just started purchasing classes at an American University. She is not yet sure, however, what sort of work she will be doing in 4 (or more) years.

Another friend is 22, and has no intention of beginning the process of buying an education until he has decided what he might see as a purposeful way of living his life.

A married couple of friends, about age 60, just moved 500 miles to finally be in position to effectively do the work they have been believing for 40 years they were ordained by the Lord to do.

All of us are ordained by the Spirit to some valuable purpose. Our preparation for the work is sometimes accomplished by doing some other work for a while. If we are not paying attention in some daily way, the time to move on to the next step of preparation, or to actually step into the opportunity of life happens without being noticed. It is also possible that, because some things are only shown to us when we ask, that we need to ask frequently for Holy Spirit assessments of our placements and progress.

Even if you are doing effective ministry, you may only be in step 3 of 5 toward being prepared for the real purpose of your life. Paul’s studies after becoming a believer took him to the desert in Arabia. Moses left home for Desert University at the age of 40.

Ask. Seek. Knock. Be prepared for awesomeness.
