Righteous Deeds

Righteousness includes both the making of proper decisions in moral and practical terms, and the making of decisions that are under the direction of the Holy Spirit of Jesus even in moments when we are not feeling led, but we asked for guidance and proceeded as seemed best. In fact, the place of maturity is to be so submitted that we begin to believe it would be hard to make a mistake, simply because we always ask for guidance.

There are shouts of joy and victory
in the tents of the righteous:
“The Lord’s right hand strikes with power!
The Lord’s right hand is raised!
The Lord’s right hand strikes with power!”
I will not die, but I will live
and proclaim what the Lord has done.
The Lord disciplined me severely
but did not give me over to death.

Open the gates of righteousness for me;
I will enter through them

and give thanks to the Lord.
This is the gate of the Lord;
the righteous will enter through it.
I will give thanks to You
because You have answered me
and have become my salvation.
The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
This came from the Lord;
it is wonderful in our eyes.

Now if the ministry of death, chiseled in letters on stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel were not able to look directly at Moses’ face because of the glory from his face—a fading glory— how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness overflows with even more glory. In fact, what had been glorious is not glorious in this case because of the glory that surpasses it. For if what was fading away was glorious, what endures will be even more glorious.
