Leaving Early

If you have ever been to a football game (or Sunday service), you have seen people leave before the end because they are bored and want to get somewhere else in a hurry. Or they want to at least get there before the Baptists down the street. Those people are not there because they are dedicated or excited.

Get excited about what our Father is up to in the earth. Expect Him to do wonderful things beyond what you can expect Him to do. For example, about 500 Muslims come to faith in Christ every month in Iran–a country ranked among the top ten persecutors of Christians in the world. Many of the new believers are young, since 70% of Iran is under the age of 30 (Vision 2020).

Stop being discouraged about the future that is misrepresented in most hymns and many “end times” teachings that say things that would make you think the last book in the Bible is “The Revelation of the AntiChrist.” Jesus said that in the time of harvest, there will be angels who will first gather tares out of His fields and throw them in the fire. The tares in that parable will be removed before the wheat is harvested.

Think about that. It is possible that He wants us praying over the harvest and preparing to receive what we are praying for, not packing our bags and sitting at the bus stop waiting on the rapture. Pray. Work. Praise. Thank. Rest. Don’t leave the field before the end of the game.
