Learning the Right Lesson

Consider this sequence of events:
I need $212.30.
I have $5.00.
I encounter a woman who has no money and is hungry.
The Spirit of the Lord moves on my heart to give the woman my $5.00.
I give the woman the $5.00.
Another woman tells me the Spirit of the Lord has told her to give me $220.00.

The lesson the Spirit has taught me is not: “If you need money, give some away and you will get what you need.”

The lesson is: “If you need something, obey the Spirit as He directs you, and He will cause your obedience to align you with His provision.”

Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and everything you need will be found as you find His Kingdom and His righteousness.
