Learning How Things Work

In 1738, Daniel Bernoulli published a book – Hydrodynamica. It stated theories from his studies of fluids and gasses. Some of the ideas he presented regarding liquid flow and the dynamics of pressure caused by the effects of the shapes and sizes of pipes were later used by inventors to understand and subsequently harness the power of air flow to cause human flight machines to work.

Understanding how things work in Heaven can help us understand how we should expect things to work in our homes and businesses and relationships. The concepts that can inform us are spiritual, though, and cannot be understood by unspiritual people: unbelievers and believers who are not spiritually minded. So, the more successful we become at revealing the culture, the power, the life and the values of Heaven in the Earth, the more we are likely to be insulted, persecuted and hated.

Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, in order to know what has been freely given to us by God. We also speak these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people. But the natural man does not welcome what comes from God’s Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to know it since it is evaluated spiritually. The spiritual person, however, can evaluate everything, yet he himself cannot be evaluated by anyone.
