Confronting or Influencing

I had two interesting encounters this week. One was with a Marxist, who, between racist insults and questions he jabbed me with but refused to listen to my answers to, told me that he has a god-given ability in himself to know what is right in every situation. He added that anyone who disagreed with what he could perceive to be right was, clearly, wrong. Unable to give any completed answer to any of his rhetorical questions, I was unable to offer him any influence. He was still shouting insults as he got in his car and left.

A friend was with me, and was clearly shaken by the verbal assault, wondering whether to defend me or run.

Second encounter was a Zoom call with a crowd of trainee prophets who were in a prophetic class with a mature prophet. The leader taught a while and then divided the group into smaller groups of three to prophesy over each other. One of the words I felt led to encourage one of my two partners with was that in the place where she worked, where there were many spiritualists, like wiccans and other new-age religions, she would be far more effective in her prophetic ministry by having the surrounding people in mind and heart rather than the leaders, even when she was prophesying to the leaders. The leaders may or may not be converted to truth, but the observers who were wanting to be led to truth would be able to hear the Holy Spirit in her words as she confronted or instructed the false leaders.

These events came together to remind me that our lives are being used by the Spirit many times when we have no intention of being used. Having the knowledge of the Holy One in our minds and mouths at all times means that we will be useful to Him in some ways we won’t know in this life. Be awesome!
