Being Leaders
The best leaders I have seen became leaders by discovering their true identities and walking in them.
Someone who has gained from the Spirit of Jesus who He says they are and who is determined to walk in that identity will stand out among the fearful, the doubtful, the hateful and the proud. Their light and their manifestations of Life will be impossible to ignore. They will become sought out by people who need answers and courage and healing and love.
It is easy for me to believe that the 60 to 80 million believers in China who currently meet with Jesus in homes and businesses will become the new government when the Chinese Communist Party implodes on itself and the nation’s economy crumbles in the process. I am convinced that in the turmoil, local believers will become local leaders, because they are known to be trustworthy and to have wisdom. The local leaders will network into the new government, I believe. One Scripture that helps me to believe such an image could be real-ized is Matthew 25:31-46. Some nations will be considered sheep nations by Jesus when He judges the nations.
Many Chinese believers have been praying that persecution would bless the western church with clarification of the difference between relationship with church and relationship with Jesus the King. Persecution doesn’t cause growth of congregations nor individuals, but it does create an environment in which those who gather with believers for social reasons or to gain business contacts are thinned out, and new believers mostly see mature believers as leaders whose lives should be emulated.
