Socializing With Swindlers

I wrote to you in a letter not to associate with sexually immoral people—by no means referring to this world’s immoral people, or to the greedy and swindlers, or to idolaters; otherwise you would have to leave the world. But now I am writing you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother who is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a reviler, a drunkard or a swindler. Do not even eat with such a person. For what is it to me to judge outsiders? Do you not judge those who are inside? But God judges outsiders. Put away the evil person from among yourselves.
(1 Corinthians 5:9-13 HCSB ©®)

Paul instructed the believers in the congregations in Corinth not to associate with people who were immoral, deceitful or addicts. Unless, that was, if they were unbelievers. Then, it was strategic to spend time with them. It was, regarding believers who were immoral, deceitful or addicts, strategic not to spend time around them.

Make the unbelievers with carnal lifestyles hungry by presenting them with Life until they became hungry enough to surrender to the Source of Life. Make the believers with carnal lifestyles hungry by forcing them to fast from Life until they became hungry enough to discipline themselves to surrender to the Source of Life.
