Quite Awake

“The kingdom of God is like this,” He said. “A man scatters seed on the ground; he sleeps and rises—night and day, and the seed sprouts and grows—he doesn’t know how. The soil produces a crop by itself—first the blade, then the head, and then the ripe grain on the head. But as soon as the crop is ready, he sends for the sickle, because harvest has come.”
(Mark 4:26-29 HCSB ©®)

But Jesus responded to them, “My Father is still working, and I am working also.”
(John 5:17 HCSB ©®)

Our Father is not sleeping while we are. He is at work to accomplish His desires in the earth. He is never looking the other way when our enemies seem to prevail over us. He is at work, bringing Life and producing fruit in our lives. We need to constantly expect His provision and protection. We need to constantly seek to be engaged in the work He has laid out before us. We need to be walking in His Way, and drinking from His Rock, and eating at His table.
