Being Hot

Jesus used the cross to save us from sin and death. He then transformed the cross into a throne of grace. He will change our crosses into thrones also.

He will not change our own works, whether Sunday morning services or holy Roman empires, into preparation to join Him in ruling the universes, but you have been given a Kingdom. Your service to its King will prepare you to rule in it.

The Kingdom has come. Whether you enter an ekklesia and serve effectively is up to you. The hot are insulted. The cold are ignored. The lukewarm are ruled over by lords of the earth, because they are warm enough to work but cool enough not to be much trouble.

Be hot. Be awesome.

“And to the messenger of the ekklesia of the Laodiceans write: These things says the Amen, the Witness — the Faithful and True — the Chief of the creation of God; I have known your works, that you are neither cold nor hot; I want that you were either cold or hot.

“So — because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to vomit you out of my mouth; because you say — ‘I am rich, and have grown rich, and have need of nothing,’ and have not known that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked, I counsel you to buy from me gold melted by fire, that you may be rich, and white garments that you may be glorious, and the shame of you nakedness may not be uncovered, and with eye-salve anoint your eyes, that you may see.

“As many as I love, I do convict and chasten; be zealous, then, and reform; look, I have stood at the door, and I knock; if any one may hear my voice, and may open the door, I will come in unto him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

“He who is overcoming — I will give to him to sit with me in my throne, as I also did overcome and did sit down with my Father in His throne. He who has an ear — let him hear what the Spirit says to the ekklesias.”
(Revelation 3:14-22)
