Fruitfulness 2

A fig tree died for not being productive out of season. Paul instructed Timothy that he must be instant in his obedience to the demands placed on him by Jesus (2 Timothy 4:1-5). In fact, we must be ready both when the demanded fruit is in season and when it is not.

All the good fruit we bear is supernatural. The power of the Holy Spirit makes us capable of desiring to bear fruit and of actually bearing fruit. This means that we can sometimes bear fruit that we didn’t grow. Some times we can bear fruit that isn’t old enough to be ripe, but is anyway. On days, we can produce answers or questions that are beyond our ability to ask or answer, and be successful at asking them or answering them anyway.

Don’t wait if Jesus says do. Don’t quit if it takes too long or costs too much. Bear much fruit. Expect that your prayers for help and advice and power will all be answered. It is better to expect something and be disappointed than to be responsible for Jesus expecting something but being disappointed.

Be awesome. In season and out.
