Hidden and Real

So we do not focus on what is seen, but on what is unseen; for what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
(2 Corinthians 4:18 Holman Christian Standard Bible ©®)

When a puppet appears in a puppet theater, it is usually either a marionette style, which is supported by strings and manipulated from above, or a Muppet style, which is manipulated from within. Contrary to the power of children’s imaginations’ abilities to prove otherwise, the “real” portion of either style is the hand that controls the puppet. The hand is invisible, though.

The two greatest strengths of the created things that we can see are the abilities to point to the invisible, eternal things that may be manipulating them, and to distract from the invisible, more valuable eternal things that they could be pointing to and teaching us about.

Almost everything has the potential to be a burning bush. Almost any ground has the potential to be a holy place, where we should be standing with bare feet, encountering the Eternal One, Who constantly wants our lives to experience unveiled value and power and Presence.

Don’t get sleepy or lazy. Don’t miss anything!
