If It Be Thy Will

Microwaving a frozen dinner relieves us from the responsibility of having to follow a recipe and hope it turns out right. It’s much less work. It’s faster. It’s cheaper.

Doing the work produces a much better product, though. The ingredients can be high quality or less chemical-soaked. The same type of choice can be made on days regarding the way we pray.

When a friend is sick, we can say, “Lord, if it be Thy will, please heal Cindy.” Or, we can ask the Spirit what is causing Cindy to be sick. We can wait for the answer to that prayer. We can then bind the demon or break the curse or forgive the sin. Then, when we have cut off the roots that give the destructive plant strength, we can ask the Lord to heal Cindy.

Or, we might hear that someone’s faith is going to be strengthened when they pray for her to be healed, so we pray for them to pray with faith that increases, never having to pray for Cindy directly, but being directly part of the process.

Some things only break through fasting and prayer. TV dinner prayers are definitely a waste of time in those cases. Ask the Spirit what to pray, then pray it, expecting that nothing can stop your agreement with His will from bringing the needed blessing.

If you’re going to pray the cheap stuff, at least pray for miracles every time.
