Wireless Power
Tesla experimented with the idea of transferring power without wires. His less difficult work was to show Thomas Edison how much safer and more powerful and less costly alternating current was than direct current. At least it was less difficult for him to do the engineering work of that project. Convincing Edison to change his empire was very difficult. We now use Tesla’s ideas, though – not Edison’s.
The fundamental work Tesla did of discovering how to transmit power wirelessly has produced cell phone chargers that don’t have to plug into our phones in order to recharge our batteries. The phone has to be really close, though. Tesla was hoping for something more like moving power wirelessly from one city to another. If you don’t place the phone in range of the charger, it won’t transmit the power. It has to discern electronically that the phone is in range, then it turns on the power charge.
If we are not close to the Spirit (Paul called that “in the Spirit”), we are out of range for power transmission. His power manifests in us as gifts and fruit. Abilities and character.
Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit. We must not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
Brothers, if someone is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual should restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so you won’t be tempted also. Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone considers himself to be something when he is nothing, he is deceiving himself. But each person should examine his own work, and then he will have a reason for boasting in himself alone, and not in respect to someone else. For each person will have to carry his own load.
The one who is taught the message must share his goods with the teacher. Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows he will also reap, because the one who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith.
