Strong Currents

We are all on a journey. Our lives are thrust into a flow of others’ lives and deaths. If we simply surrender to the current, we will end up somewhere. The destination will not be good if we are only under the influence of powers and purposes from the world.

Bitterness, unforgiveness, mismatched partnerships – these can snag us and stop us and cause life to flow around us. Stay in the flow that the Holy One causes.

If our lead comes from the Holy Spirit, He will direct us through rapids and slow places and waterfalls and darkness and forks in the river.

A king’s heart is a water channel in the Lord’s hand:
He directs it wherever He chooses.

All the ways of a man seem right to him,
but the Lord evaluates the motives.

Doing what is righteous and just
is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
