Being More Offensive

Take the land. Fear not.

Caleb said, “We must go up and take possession of the land because we can certainly conquer it!” (Numbers 13:30)

The ten spies with evil reports said, “We can’t go up against the people because they are stronger than we are!… The land we passed through to explore is one that devours its inhabitants, and all the people we saw in it are men of great size… We even saw the Nephilim there… To ourselves we seemed like grasshoppers, and we must have seemed the same to them.”
(Numbers 13:31-33)

When Joshua sent spies in 40 years later, he only wanted the good report, so he only sent 2 spies.

Rahab the prostitute said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land and that dread of you has fallen on us, and everyone who lives in the land is panicking because of you. For we have heard how the Lord dried up the waters of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two Amorite kings you completely destroyed across the Jordan. When we heard this, we lost heart, and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on earth below.” (Joshua 2:9-12)

According to Rahab, the citizens of Jericho had been afraid of the Israelis for 40 years. Whatever you are in the earth to accomplish, take the offensive and do it. Yahweh your God is with you. You will succeed.
