Yahweh’s Opinion of You

Samuel’s presence apparently terrorized many Israelis because he had great authority and power from Yahweh. When he was sent to find a replacement for Saul to rule over Israel (1 Samuel 16), the elders of Bethlehem went out to meet him. They trembled as they asked him why he was visiting them.

Jesse seemed to be less fearful – when Samuel asked him to bring his sons with him to sacrifice to Yahweh, Jesse hid David for some reason. Only after the countdown of each of his other sons exposed that the sought after one was still missing did Jesse confess that he had one more son…

No matter what anyone thinks or says about you, learn a lesson from David’s success at his calling – learn what Yahweh thinks and says about you, and ignore the rest. David had the help of a prophet to hear Yahweh’s opinion. There are still prophets of Yahweh offering that service. If you are not sure what He thinks about your life and work, ask the Spirit to send word to you.
