Meeting With the Flock

If the congregation you meet with were to meet in a way that resembled what Paul seemed to be writing about in what we call his first letter to the congregations that were meeting in Corinth (chapters 11-14), there might be people prophesying and other people testifying and others teaching.

Imagine just the one probable improvement, if the person leading your congregation is really a pastor, that there would be even one person doing some teaching who was really a teacher. Pastors don’t usually teach well, I think. They probably pastor instead. And teachers don’t usually pastor well. Suppose you had both! Or a few of each!

So – if that was the kind of meeting you could look forward to each week, where gifted people were manifesting Jesus and imparting Life – what would you be preparing for during the week? What would you bring to the body?

Are you bringing that to the body in some way now? If not, why not?
