Secure, so Humble
Now by the time of supper, the Devil had already put it into the heart of Judas, Simon Iscariot’s son, to betray Him. Jesus knew that the Father had given everything into His hands, that He had come from God, and that He was going back to God. So He got up from supper, laid aside His robe, took a towel, and tied it around Himself. Next, He poured water into a basin and began to wash His disciples’ feet and to dry them with the towel tied around Him.

Jesus knew that the Father had given everything into His hands, that He had come from God, and that He was going back to God. So…
What would we need to know in order to be able to step over into the powerful place of humility and unoffenability? How much security would have to be guaranteed to us for us to feel safe making sacrifice plays in the game of life? When we give someone an inch of humility, things might go wrong. But when we refuse to, things might not go right. I might sacrifice something and not bring the benefit to someone I hoped it would.
Its frequently not easy to discern what the Spirit is saying to us when we are trying to decide how to play a hand. Life is full of chances and dangers. What our generosity level measures up to will be the level we can expect to receive. Be extravagant in your faith and your love. Be lavish in your forgiveness and mercy. Then expect your future to be shaped by your actions. Sow and reap. Don’t worry about mistakes:
A man’s steps are established by the Lord,
and He takes pleasure in his way.
Though he falls, he will not be overwhelmed,
because the Lord holds his hand.
