Hiding From Justice
On days we love to know what the law says, so we know whether we can prosecute someone who has harmed us. On other days, we want to know what it says because we want to know whether someone can prosecute us for something we did or failed to do. Right and wrong, good and evil, and location of loopholes for our escape from punishment.
Why did Adam hide from Yahweh?
Why are we still trying to hide from justice, but to execute judgment on others?
Adam, Eve, and we are suffering from the knowledge that there is good, and there is evil, and we don’t have a compass nor map that can be used to navigate between them. What seems right in one case seems wrong in another. What seems right for one individual seems wrong for another. What seems right to you seems wrong to me.
The path to righteousness is not obedience to or proper execution of laws. It is in listening to the Spirit of Jesus and letting Him empower us to obey what He says.
So those who have faith are blessed with Abraham, who had faith.
For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written: Cursed is everyone who does not continue doing everything written in the book of the law. Now it is clear that no one is justified before God by the law, because the righteous will live by faith. But the law is not based on faith; instead, the one who does these things will live by them. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, because it is written: Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree. The purpose was that the blessing of Abraham would come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that we could receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
