From Fear to Wisdom
“The fear of the Lord” is a phrase that is used over 30 times in the Old Testament, and once in Acts of the Apostles. The Hebrew word for “fear” in the phrase is translated a few ways – from “frightening” to “reverential awe.” As a reminder, “awful,” “full of awe,” and “awesome” are directly related. We need to learn what it means to fear our God, because finding the truth of it and walking in that truth will unlock many other blessings to us.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
all who follow His instructions have good insight.
His praise endures forever.
