Learning From History

Now I want you to know, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, all passed through the sea, and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food, and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from a spiritual rock that followed them, and that rock was Christ. But God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the desert.
Now these things became examples for us, so that we will not desire evil as they did.

Now these things happened to them as examples, and they were written as a warning to us, on whom the ends of the ages have come.

According to Paul, everything that happened to Israel from the time of leaving Egypt to the time of entering the property Canaan’s descendants had been squatting on happened and was written down so that we would be informed by their examples. Reading that history (Exodus – Joshua) can inform you regarding living your days in profitable ways.
