Touching the Dead
Touching the dead can have a bad effect on you. “The person who touches any human corpse will be unclean for seven days. He is to purify himself with the water on the third day and the seventh day; then he will be clean. But if he does not purify himself on the third and seventh days, he will not be clean. Anyone who touches a body of a person who has died, and does not purify himself, defiles the tabernacle of the Lord. That person will be cut off from Israel. He remains unclean because the water for impurity has not been sprinkled on him, and his uncleanness is still on him.”
(Numbers 19:11-13 Holman Christian Standard Bible ©®)
However, when Jesus touched dead people, it had a good effect on the dead. Death could not affect Him because He came to affect it. When will we cast off the faithless teaching that we are just here to teach people to do better? When will we grow up into the things Jesus did, and the greater things that are possible because He has sent His Spirit to us?
By expecting miracles, we are likely to have websites devoted to degrading our names as heretics. They will judge us based on their fears. The faithless will not be our judges in the end, though, with regard to how we lived our lives. Then, it will be the One Who gave us power to manifest His Life in the earth. Be awesome!
