Being Like Peter

It is easy sometimes to identify with Peter when he wanted to build places of worship for Elijah and for Moses. When he would never deny Jesus, and denied Him 3 times in quick succession, I can see myself being weak or fearful. When he gave up waiting for Jesus and just wanted to go fishing, dragging the rest of the fishermen out onto the lake, I can see myself.

I should be even more able to see myself in the works he did after he was filled with the Spirit of Jesus on Pentecost morning. I have the same Holy Spirit empowering and leading and teaching and revealing Jesus to me that Peter received. More than that, I have the Scriptures. Peter had access to the Old Testament, but according to several observations, he either could not read or couldn’t read well. I have the whole Bible.

Make me able to believe and to do all that You desire of me, Lord Jesus! Make me awesome! Thank You!
