Praying for the Persecuted
Now those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a homeland. If they had been remembering that land they came from, they would have had opportunity to return. But they now aspire to a better land—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

Just because the American propaganda industry has stopped saying anything about Marxists empowering criminals who are enslaved by Mohammad’s god to own Afghanistan, that doesn’t mean things there have improved for anyone but the criminals. Your family members there are raising their sons and daughters to be prepared to die for trusting Jesus as their Savior and their King.
Things will change in answer to prayer, though. Daily prayer for them and/or millions of other believers around the planet who are persecuted and punished to the point of torture and death would be appropriate, but even devoting one day a week or one day a month to spend some time blessing them will change lives. Pray for the persecutors to be saved, like Paul was as believers prayed for him.
