The Salt of Sodom
You are the salt of the earth. Lot’s wife was the salt of Sodom.
How can we find the place of faith and obedience in which we can be salt that is for flavoring, and not just become a monument to the power of doubt?
A computer program that is used by desktop computers, laptops, tablets and smart phones to access the internet and interact with websites and other resources is called a “browser.” If I am using a browser to access something on a website, and the information that the site is making available changes, my browser needs to “refresh” the page I am looking at so that it is updated to match the page that is being presented by the website. On your computer keyboard, the F5 key forces that action – “Refresh Page.”
We need to be pressing the F5 key on our “hearing from Heaven” page frequently these days. Just as Abraham had to keep adjusting his obedience as Yahweh adjusted His instructions (as in the sacrifice of Isaac), and Joshua had to keep seeking the direction of Yahweh as he led Israelis to take Jericho and then Ai, we need to be constantly listening to updated direction from the Spirit of our God. He has intentions for our lives that are specific to the season, the day, the hour we are living and the ones ahead.
It is appropriate all through your waking hours to ask, “What to do next, Lord?” and “How do I do this, Lord?” and “How should I interact with this person, Lord?” and “Where is Your provision and protection in this situation, Lord?” and thousands of other questions. Stay synchronized with the Clock of Heaven. Your times are in His hand. The freshness of what you have to say and the life or death what you have to say will offer others is in His Spirit.
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty? It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled on by men.
“You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lampstand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
