Sustaining Power of God’s Word

Long ago God spoke to the fathers by the prophets at different times and in different ways. In these last days, He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things and through whom He made the universe. He is the radiance of His glory, the exact expression of His nature, and He sustains all things by His powerful word. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

If my laptop computer is not plugged into a power source, it is running on its battery. If I have unplugged the power source and then remove the battery, it is still visible, but it is no longer powerful. It is dead.

The entire universe is still being sustained by the words spoken to create it. If the intent of those words is removed, the universe will no longer exist.

Yahweh has spoken words over your life that give it value and authority and strength and abundance. Find those words and agree with them and repeat them and fan into flame the power they hold.

Therefore, I remind you to keep ablaze the gift of God that is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.
