Living Above the Sky
Five times in his letter to the congregations in Ephesus, Paul used a word that has been translated into English as “heavenly places” (NKJV), “heavenly” (HCSB), or “heaven” (CJB). The word could be translated very literally as “above the sky.”
In Ephesians 1:20, our Father exalted Jesus from the dead to seat Him at His right hand in the heavens. In 2:6, our Father exalted us to be seated with Him at His right hand in the heavens, because we are in Christ Jesus.
In 3:10, Paul prophesied that we will be informing rulers and authorities in the heavens about revelation we have of our Father’s multifaceted wisdom. In 6:12, Paul pointed out that some of the spiritual wickedness and evil we will face will happen while we are in the earth, but the encounters will happen in the heavens.
So – whether we are in good health or poor, great provision or poor, clear revelation or poor, alone or at a feast, we are also free to sit in the throne of the heavens in Christ. Our battles can be fought in that place. Our victories can be won in the position of being seated together with each other and the King of the universe in the heavens.
So – don’t worry. Be awesome.
