Jesus the Center
As soon as Jesus becomes the Center of our doctrine, our hope, our discussion, our study, our life, our joy, our love, believers will be united and will begin to bring His authority into every aspect of life in the world. As long as we each have our discussions and doctrines and love and study and hope or anything else as the center, we will love our ideas about Him more than we love Him, and we will be separated by ourselves.
Paul, describing to the congregations at Corinth that the Spirit of prophecy is the same Spirit as the Spirit of miracles, and all the rest, told them that there is only one Spirit, one faith, one baptism to become part of His body. They would always look differently, think differently, work differently, but if they all surrendered to the leadership of His Spirit, they would be His body. In the last verse of chapter 12, Paul introduced what we call chapter 13 as “the way” they would be able to become His body by being different in unity.
