Ministry of Death
Now if the ministry of death, chiseled in letters on stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel were not able to look directly at Moses’ face because of the glory from his face—a fading glory—how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness overflows with even more glory. In fact, what had been glorious is not glorious in this case because of the glory that surpasses it. For if what was fading away was glorious, what endures will be even more glorious.
(2 Corinthians 3:7-11 Holman Christian Standard Bible ©®)
We have not been called to condemn people to death. We are called and empowered to invite them to life. While it is true that some cultures, influenced by false gods who are flippant and ever-changing in their attitudes and values, cannot understand the sacrifice of Jesus to pay for their sins without some sense of the righteousness and authority and the laws Yahweh has spoken, others, like those following the false god of Mohammad are already aware they are condemned.
The God-fearing Gentiles Paul encountered in Turkey and Greece were astonished at the invitation of Yahweh being made to them through Jesus. The condemnation they had become aware of through the Jews in the synagogues was effective at convincing them of their valuelessness. The ministry of righteousness Jesus offered them through Paul was beyond their hopes and dreams.
When we offer people life and health and protection and provision and joy and love and more by inviting them into the Kingdom of Heaven, we bring them more treasure and value than they can imagine. The most glorious manifestation is the glory of the love Yahweh has for them. Show them.
