Desiring and Doing

E. Stanley Jones, servant of Jesus in India and many other places, said that the motto he held for life was, “Not able to do it, but enabled.”

We need to work out our salvation. We are not, however able to. We are, however enabled to, because it is the Spirit of Jesus Who works in us to be able to want to do what pleases Jesus, and to be able to actually do what pleases Jesus (Philippians 2:12-13). Be awesome, by the power of the Spirit Who raised Jesus from the dead.
