Sun Day

The days of the week are named after gods and demons, just as the planets are. Yahweh just called them after their numerical order.

Constantine worshiped the sun. Under his influence, Yahweh’s declared day of worship (the seventh) was usurped and replaced by the prominence of the Sun god (first day) over Saturn (seventh day).

I am hoping it is possible that people will be delivered from the idea that they can get fueled up for their week by spending time with Jesus on the first day or the seventh, and start looking for ways to spend time with Him every day.

One person considers one day to be above another day. Someone else considers every day to be the same. Each one must be fully convinced in his own mind. Whoever observes the day, observes it to the Lord. Whoever eats, eats to the Lord, since he gives thanks to God; and whoever does not eat, it is to the Lord that he does not eat, yet he thanks God. For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.

Watch out, brothers, so that there won’t be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that departs from the living God. But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception. For we have become companions of the Messiah if we hold firmly until the end the reality that we had at the start. (Hebrews 3:12-14 Holman Christian Standard Bible ©®)
