Your Turn
John did a great job of proclaiming the Law and the Prophets. He finished the project, in fact. Being the least in the Kingdom of Heaven, however, he didn’t proclaim any details about that Kingdom. He did announce that it was at hand, and that a required preparation for encountering it was a changed mind (repentance).
Now it’s your turn to make noise! You don’t have to say much about the Law and the Prophets, now. Your proclamation is about the Kingdom. It is past the point of being “at hand.” It is here. It is so powerful that even in its infancy, Jesus could declare that it was “among” or “within” the Pharisees (the Law and the Prophets professionals) (Luke 17:20-21).
Jesus came to save and to rule. The good news about salvation is its free, by faith. The good news about the Kingdom includes the facts that once you have salvation and are born of God, you can see it, enter it, and later you can inherit it. Preach it.
