In Trouble

How willing are we to get in trouble over doing what’s righteous? Peter and John were both too full of fear to think when Jesus was arrested. After being filled with the Spirit of Jesus, however, they stood up to the thugs who had Jesus tortured and killed. They were being told to stop preaching about Jesus, and they refused. They even added charges of evil behavior against the leaders when they replied.

All of creation is waiting for us to step up, move away from fear and take authority over all that stands against the will of its Creator.

All those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children, and if children, also heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—seeing that we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us. For the creation eagerly waits with anticipation for God’s sons to be revealed.
