God First

The religious protocol that says God is first, family is second, and ministry is third doesn’t line up with Scripture and on days doesn’t line up with clear instructions from the King. A few verses that seem to teach a different idea:

Luke 18:29-30     So He said to them, “I assure you: There is no one who has left a house, wife or brothers, parents or children because of the kingdom of God, who will not receive many times more at this time, and eternal life in the age to come.”

Bill Johnson, of Bethel Church in Redding California, says his protocol is: God is first, and there is no second.

Everything we do should be at the direction of, under the empowerment of, and to the glory of our God. Whether what He leads us to looks balanced or fair or silly or costly or not is irrelevant. Obedience to His voice is righteousness.
