Get Perfected

“Jesus said to him, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.'” (Matthew 19:21)

Being pitiful (though rich), the rich young ruler didn’t see how the values in the Kingdom could be valuable to him. Good example of how difficult it is for the rich to enter the Kingdom. It puts them out of being in control. Easier to get a camel through a needle’s eye than to get a rich man to submit his life and his riches to the King of Glory.

He told me, “If you want to be perfect, count it all joy when you face all the trials in your life. Let Patience have her perfect work in you, and you will be perfect, complete, lacking nothing.” (James 1:2-4)

What is He saying to you about your maturity? What is the process through which He will empower you with the ability to respond to opportunities and tests with His wisdom and character?

If He doesn’t seem to be saying anything, ask Him.

Never heed the lazy or fearful who warn you, “Don’t ask for patience!” or “Don’t ask the Lord to increase your faith!” One day, instead of giving you bad advice, they will be asking you for good advice.

And you will have it.
